PURPOSE:To enable the quantitative analysis of alkaline phosphatase with simple operation in high sensitivity, with little influence of colored component in the specimen (blood), by using mono-4-arylazoarylphosphoric acid ester as a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A mono-4-arylazoarylphosphoric acid ester of formula (M is H or alkali metal; R1 and R2 are H or Cl; when M is H, it may form a salt with amines) is used in the quantitative analysis of an alkaline phosphatase. The compound is hydrolyzed by the action of alkaline phosphatase to release an azo dye. The amount of alkaline phosphatase can be determined by determining the amount of the azo dye by colorimetry.
