A known multiple toolholder has a rotatable tool body and two different catch means, by which the rotary steps are preselected and fixed. There is provided, furthermore, a clamping device for rotating the tool carrier by means of a hand lever and for clamping, which has a take-up device in which the possibility of the toolholder undergoing increased wear cannot be excluded. In contrast, the new multiple toolholder is to be made robust and functionally reliable and, as a result of an improved constructive design, is not to undergo any increased wear. For this purpose, the multiple toolholder contains as a single catch means two discs crown-toothed with a sawtoothing, the number of teeth corresponding to the number of rotary steps. The take-up device contains a pin which is movable into a recess for take-up and which is freed from the recess during the return of the hand lever. The multiple toolholder is especially suitable for use on lathes.
