<p>A safety helmet for water sports comprising a shell (1), an inner frame (3), a retractible visor (2) and a head retentioning hood. A wiper means comprising two blades (4, 5) is disposed at the front of the shell between the shell (1) and inner frame (3). The blades (4,5) are oppositely disposed in spaced apart and parallel relationship to respectively engage the inner and outer faces of the visor (2), so that upon moving the visor (2) from an open to a closed position, or vice versa, the blades (4, 5) wipe across the face of the visor to clean the same. The head retentioning hood is segmented and is made from both resilient and substantially non-extendible material to intimately engage the head of the wearer so as to impede wind and water penetration of the ears, whilst maintaining comfort and ventilation of the head without limiting freedom of movement.</p> |
