PURPOSE:To enhance operation efficiency in freely movable filter cloths by joining freely detachably only the part of filter cloth face to be used for filtration to the other part by means of a fastener, taking out and replacing only that part in case the filter cloth is clogged. CONSTITUTION:The intervals between fixed filter cloths 4 and freely movable filter cloths 5 are made to be filtration chambers and diaphragms 3 for a press to be used for extruding the filter cloths toward the filtration chambers are arranged to the rear sides of both filter cloths. Material to be filtered which is fed to the filtration chambers is compressed with the filter cloths and dehydrated. In the freely movable filter cloths 5, the part of the filter cloth face required only for filtration is joined to the other part freely detachably by means of a fastener. If the part of the filter face is clogged and filtration effect is lost, only that part is taken out and replaced with fresh filter cloth, or it is fitted after it is subjected to washing treatment. Thereby such operation that movable filter cloths held on a winding shaft or the like are to be taken off from an apparatus frame side can be omitted.
