PURPOSE:To obtain superior sharpness as well as to increase the strength of a film by incorporating a specified coupler and a polymer coupler into a color photographic sensitive material. CONSTITUTION:A coupler having a dye moiety whose maximal absorption wavelength is shifted to a shorter wavelength side by a coupling reaction with the oxidized product of an arom. prim. amine developing agent or bonding which causes cleavage through a timing group and producing a compd. having a dye moiety whose maximal absorption wavelength is that before the shift by the reaction, and a polymer coupler are incorporated into a color photographic sensitive material having one or more photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers on the supporting body. When the sensitive material is imagewise exposed and developed, the coupler couples wit the oxidized product of a developing agent and a formed image is composed of different two molecules of dyes produced from one molecule each of couplers. The first dye is a conventional dye and the second dye is a dye produced from the coupler of this invention, increases the density and fastness of the color image and improves the hue. The thickness of the sensitive material is reduced, the sharpness is improved and the adhesive strength of the film is increased. |
