The invention relates to a process for producing hydraulic binders, in particular interground-material cements or foundry cements with elevated early strength, using lime-rich filter ash which tends to expand as a result of free lime. The aim is pursued of subjecting lime-rich residues, which were hitherto intended for landfill sites, from gas scrubbing from boiler systems fired with solid fuels completely to use as binders and in the process producing a high-quality binder of defined volume stability. According to the invention, the filter ash tending to expand as a result of free lime is brought into intimate grain-contact with a component capable of binding lime, the lime-binding component being added in significant excess, mixed with cement clinker and gypsum rock and/or anhydrite and/or waste products from flue-gas desulphurisation or/and Portland cement and refined to the specific surface area required for the quality of the binder to be produced. In order to achieve the high early strength of the binder produced, the reaction-promoting effect of the temperature increase as a result of the slaking reaction, taking place in a controlled manner, of the lime-containing filter ash is utilised during hydration.
|
