PURPOSE:To secure and release a linear member for suspending an object at random position through single touch, by providing a mechanism for securing and releasing a linear object to/from a supporting frame and the inner wall thereof to a tool for freely stopping the linear member secured to a supporting pipe. CONSTITUTION:A linear member for supporting an object is inserted through first and second guide members 28, 30 into a tool 12 for freely stopping the linear member secured to a supporting pipe 14. When a movable operating section 36 is pushed up manually, a fastening member 26 moves upward along both inclined and elongated holes 24 and fastens a linear member 10 to the inner wall 22 of a supporting frame 16 through the fastening section 43 thereof then secures the linear member 10 through a suspension load. When the linear member 10 is pulled downward, the fastening member 26 rotates downward through the receiving section 38 thereof and releases fastening force for the linear member 10. Consequently, the linear member for suspending an object can be secured at a random position through a single touch, thereby labor and time necessary for work in an orchard can be reduced.
