<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a very thin metal band excellent in quality by starting rolling from a calculated contact position on upper and lower work rolls, providing a taper having a calculated roll opening or more and a maximum roll opening or less up to the final pass on the roll end side. CONSTITUTION:At the pass time when the calculated roll opening distribution is diminished gradually towards a work roll end and the sign is reversed, by adding a contact load distribution between upper and lower work rolls on said calculation, a calculation is performed until the calculating result is converged. Then, at the pass time when the sign on the calculated result of the roll opening distribution is reversed by calculating the opening distribution of the upper and lower work rolls, the rolling is performed starting at least from the contact position based on the calculation between the upper and lower work rolls by providing the taper having the calculated roll opening or more at the roll end part and the maximum roll opening or less until the final pass. By this method, the upper and lower work rolls are brought into contact with each other at a separated position from the edge of the band metal to be rolled, and the rolling load is rapidly increased to prevent the rolling from not being smoothly performed.</p> |
