PURPOSE:To provide an electrode for a fuel cell having improved conductivity at high temperature by using carbon powder having a specified range of temperature coefficient of electrical resistance as carbon powder carrying a noble metal catalyst. CONSTITUTION:Carbon black powder having a temperature coefficient of electrical resistance of about 100-180 is selected as carbon powder. A noble metal catalyst prepared by carrying noble metal particles such as platinum group on the above carbon powder is applied with a binder on a porous substrate to form an electrode for a fuel cell. This electrode has decreased voltage drop caused by resistance polarization and high electrical conductivity even at relatively high operating temperature such as about 200 deg.C. This fuel cell shows good current-voltage performance. |
