<p>A system comprising a recirculating ball spindle and an associated open nut, of use for supported screwthreaded spindles, is described; the spindles are screwthreaded with a hemispherical-section helical groove or channel and a hollow cylindrical nut (2) engages some of the way around the spindle except for the gap of the longitudinal slit (5), there being provided: respective helical grooves or channels (2.2, 2.3); a cylindrical sleeve (2.4) which extends around the outer periphery of the nut (2.1) and which is formed with a longitudinal slit (5) with its ends parallel to the those of the split in the nut; and a number of balls (6) engaged in the groove of the screwthreading of the spindle and in contact with the groove in the nut inner periphery.</p> |
