PURPOSE:To obtain a speaker diaphragm characterized by light weight, low cost and high input resistance by impregnating vinyl acetate-acrylate inter polymer resin into a paper sheet material consisting of natural pulp using Manila hemp as a base material and sticking an edge material into which chlorosulfonic polymer resin is impregnated to a conical part simultaneously with the conical part. CONSTITUTION:The vinyl acetate-acrylate inter polymer resin is impregnated into the paper sheet material consisting of the natural pulp using Manila hemp as the base material and the edge material into which chlorosulfonic polymer resin is impregnated is stuck to the conical part simultaneously with the forming of the conical part. About 0-30wt% linters pulp can be mixed with said Manila hemp. Such a kind of a diaphragm is formed as follows. Namely, 8gr/m<2> vinyl acetate-acrylate inter polymer resin is impregnated into 35gr/m<2> paper sheet material obtained by mixing 30wt% linters pulp with Manila hemp and dried and then 40gr/m<2> chlorosulfonic polymer resin is impregnated into the mixture and dried. After blanking the edge base material by a prescribed shape, the edge base material is stuck to the conical part simultaneously with the forming of the conical part under the conditions of 180 deg.C metal die temperature and 4sec pressing time to obtain the diaphragm.
