<p>One aspect of the invention relates to a multilayer article comprising a first substantially non-porous, polymeric layer (12) bonded (14) to a second porous, absorbent, polymeric layer (16). The second layer is relatively thinner than the first layer. Preferably, the article is rendered heat recoverable. A further aspect of the invention relates to a method of making a multilayer article comprising bonding a first layer of polymeric material to a second layer of polymeric material wherein the second layer is relatively thinner than the first layer. The method further comprises the step of causing the second layer to become porous and absorbent wherein the first layer remains substantially free of porosity. Another aspect of the invention relates to a multilayer article made by the method. Further aspects of the invention relate to providing a layer of adhesive on the outer surface of said first layer of the multilayer article and adhering the article to a substrate.</p> |
