<p>A hypodermic needle (14) secured to a needle mount (15) and contained in a case (16) and a syringe (10) have a pair of oppositely handed screw connections (13, 21, 17, 18) such that the syringe (10) can be screwed onto the needle mount (15), continued rotation then unscrewing the mount (15) and needle (14) from the case (16). After use the needle (14) is returned to the case (16) by a reverse of the procedures. The screw means are preferably such that they can be made inoperable when the needle (14) is returned to the case (16) so that the needle cannot be re-used. The screw means can advantageously include at least one luer connection (21).</p> |
