PURPOSE:To prevent the falling off or sinking while facilitate the press fitting of a chip by making the small diameter part of a cone part project out of an opposite road face side when said cone part is provided on said chip and press fitted into a spike metal fitting, in a spike chip which is installed on the body of a frame body made of an elastic material. CONSTITUTION:Chips 16 are formed into a truncated cone shape with a material having high wear resistance such as hard metal, etc., and press fitted into the through holes of a spike metal fitting 38 made of a soft steel. In this case, the length of the truncated cone and the diameter of each parts of the chip 16 and the diameter of the through hole of the spike metal fitting 38 are determined in such a way that the small diameter end of the chip 16 is fixed in the state of being projected out of the opposite road face side of the spike metal fitting 38. And, this spike metal fitting 38 is caulked into an elliptical shape and installed on the center part in the perpendicularly intersecting direction in the longitudinal direction of a body 28 made of rubber. By this structure, the falling off or sinking of the chip can be prevented while facilitating the press fitting of the chip.
