PURPOSE:To write and read data with one low-power laser oscillator by previously heating at least a part where the data of a carrier for light recording is recorded with a means different from a laser oscillator for writing and using a low-power laser oscillator for reading as the laser oscillator for writing in case of recording the data. CONSTITUTION:At the time of writing the data, an intermittent laser beam is radiated on the surface of the optical recording carrier 1 from the laser oscillator 2. At the same time, high frequency current is applied in an induction coil 6 from a high frequency power source 7 so as to fully heat the inductive carrier 1, rotating in the coil, by induction heating, that means, the radiation of the laser light beam is executed in a state in which a kind of thermal bias is given. Even if the laser oscillator 2 is small one having comparatively low- power, which can not cause an optical or a physical alternation of the surface of the carrier 1 for light recording only with the energy of the oscillated laser light beam at normal temperature, the desirable data can be digitally recorded on the surface of the carrier 1 since the carrier 1 is fully heated.
