摘要 <p>The pendulum piston engine in the form of a motor, compressor or pump has at least one pendulum piston (130) attached to a connecting rod (131). The edge (90) of the piston travels in a preferably inwardly curved cylinder (112). The connecting rod (131) extends over the correcting rod bearing (27') and has the form of a counterweight (133, 137, 139). Optimal design of this counterweight (133, 137, 139) results in true and almost frictionless travel of the pendulum piston (130) and optimal design of the crankshaft counterweight (123') results in outstanding mass balance even in a one-cylinder engine. Preferably a rectangular pendulum piston (130) with a connecting rod (131) and counterweight (133, 137, 139) of the same width travel in a close-fitting housing (112, 113, 135) and constitute a volumetric connecting rod which requires an inlet organ (valve or membrane) and which effects preliminary compression of the working medium before the medium enters the working space (115). The cylinder head (118) is particularly suited to this floating piston - crank mechanism with connecting rod. The cylinder head (118) has an elongated, cylindrical, coated combustion chamber (155) which makes catalytic combustion with self-ignition according to Dr. D. Merritt particularly easy. The principal fields of application of this pendulum piston engine are built-in, vehicle, marine and aircraft engines as well as heat pumps and refrigerator compressors.</p>
