The disc is located in an aperture in a thin plate type carrier that is removable from a cassette housing. At the front edge of the carrier is a profiled lip with a groove that identifies with a claw at the rear of the player. Two such claws are located on either side of the cassette and are supported on a shaft with coil springs to provide a bias force. A mechanical interlock finger is also located on the shaft and identifies with a slot in the main cassette housing during loading.
