PURPOSE:To prevent the contamination of electrolytic gold by Ti and to produce high purity gold, by specifying the ratio of AC to DC from the beginning of electrolysis when gold is electrolyzed with a Ti plate as the cathode. CONSTITUTION:When gold is electrolyzed with a Ti plate as the cathode, the ratio of AC to DC is regulated to <=1.5 from the beginning of electrolysis. The time of immersion of the cathode in an electrolytic soln. between electrolysis stages is made as short as possible and a rolled plate of high grade Ti is used as the plate. Thus, the contamination of electrolytic gold by Ti is prevented and high purity gold of about 99.999% purity is obtd.
