PURPOSE:To make effective heat collecting operation possible by changing the capacity of a compressor in accordance with the signal of a setting means for heat collecting operation condition, the signal of a switchover means for compressor capacity, and the signal of a detecting circuit for the outside air temp. CONSTITUTION:A heat collecting circuit consists of a compressor 1, a fourway cock 2, a heat exchanger 3, a pressure reducing device 4, a heat collector 5, a vapor-liquid separator 6, a heat collecting pipe 7, and a check valve 8; a water circulation circuit consists of a hot water storage vessel 9 and a circulation pump 10; and a vaporizing temp. sensor 11, a controller 13, and a water temp. detecting sensor 14 placed near the inlet of the exchanger 3 are installed. When energy saving operation is selected, a switch-over circuit 2A for compressor makes the capacity of the compressor 1 smaller and sets it in power saving operation. On the other hand, a heat collecting operation circuit 3A starts its heat collecting operation by detecting the sunshine. When the maximum capacity operation is selected, the circuit 2A makes the capacity of the compressor 1 larger and sets it in full-power operation. On the other hand, the circuit 3A starts to collect heat regardless of the existence of sunshine.
