PURPOSE:To finish high-quality tea having excellent color and fragrance, by transporting a raw material for tea manufacturing from one side of a rotary barrel to another while placing the raw material on a great number of blades and beating the leaves in a state wherein the raw material is stored between neighboring spiral belts. CONSTITUTION:A rotary barrel 5 is revolved left by a rotary mechanism 12 by operating a motor 11 and a blower connected to an extending part at the right hand side of a forcedly ventilating pipe 18 is operated. Further a heater 4 is ignited, a feeder 13 for supplying a raw material for tea manufacturing is operated and the raw material is sent from a feeding column 14 through one side of the rotary barrel 5 to the inside. The raw material (a) for tea manufacturing is packed between neighboring transportation spiral belts 6 and sent from one side of the rotary barrel 5 to another in a state wherein the raw material is placed on a great number of beltlike blades 7 constituting the rotary barrel 5 at the right lower part, leaves are being beaten and sent to the upper part of the rotary barrel 5. In the operation, air in a roasting chamber 1 warmed by a heater 4 is permeated through a great number of the blades 7 to the rotary barrel 5 and the raw material (a) for manufacturing tea is uniformly heated by hot air without being partially heated.
