In a carpet fastener, cut and bent up from a metal strip, edge flanges 3 have integral carpet-engaging spikes 5 which form acute angles with the plane of the web 4. The depth of the flanges accommodates an underfelt 11. Holes 6 receive fixing screws or nails or form a key with adhesive and the web may be knurled on its under surface. In securing a stair carpet fastener strips, secured on the tread and on the riser, form an angle to receive the fold of the carpet. The fastener may be coated with a waterproof and electricallyinsulating plastics layer. |
