MASS PRODUCING METHOD FOR SENDAI VIRUS

Mass prodn. of the ovalbumin free Sendai virus (ATCC VR-105), useful as an interferon inducer, comprises (a) diluting sendai virus with a soln. of 2.5 dextrose and 0.42g NaCl in 100ml distld. water, infecting to the developing chick embryo at 200 plaque forming units, and incubating the embryo for 84hr; and (b) purifying the allantoic vesicle membrane soln. from (a) using the antibody-column specific for HA antigens to provide a virus soln. of 2.1X105 plaque-forming units/ml.
