PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal stencil base paper which has no fog of printed matter due to an increase in the number of printed sheets and preferable printability by providing a polymer coating layer which mainly contains nitrocellulose as a thermal stencil layer on one side surface of a porous sheet material. CONSTITUTION:Thermal stencil base paper has a polymer coating layer which mainly contains nitrocellulose as a thermal stencil layer on one side surface of a porous sheet material. The nitrocellulose to be used is obtained, for exam ple, by esterifying with nitric acid natural cellulose with mixed acid, and substi tuting the hydroxyl group in the cellulose with nitrate group (nitro group). The nitrogen atoms contained in the nitrocellulose should be 10-20wt.%, and mean molecular weight range 20,000-2,000,000, which is particularly preferable in view of film coating property and durability. Thus, the high quality of print ing based on the thin layer of the stencil layer is obtained, the durability of the coating layer is improved to obtain good printability, and no fog of printed matter due to the increase in the number of printed sheets. |
