PURPOSE:To reduce camber quantity of a belt, prevent unequal cooling in a cast slab and to obtain the stable quality by using combined clad steel plate joining two kinds of the steel plates having different coefficients of linear expansion to the belt for continuous casting of a twin belt type continuous casting machine. CONSTITUTION:Outer face side of the belt, which becomes high temp. by contacting with molten steel or the cast slab, is made of the steel plate 21 having small coefficient of the linear expansion and its inner face side at cooling side, is constituted by the steel plate 22 having large coefficient of the linear expansion. In this way, thermal strain at the inner face side (low-temp. side) is made to more than that of the conventional single steel plate-made belt, to restrain the camber quantity of whole steel plate, i.e. the belt itself to a little. As the camber quantity or deforming quantity becomes a little, the service life becomes long. Further, as the deforming quantity of the belt is reduced, and variation of the molten surface near pouring part of the molten steel and the unequal cooling in the cast slab are prevented and the cast slab 5 having the stable quality is obtd. |
