PURPOSE:To take a proper step against a trouble generated in a recording medium by setting a bit of discriminating information to each recording medium. CONSTITUTION:To a form to be recorded, a virtual discriminating number is given, and a data is shared among an interface controller (IFC) 52, a print engine (PE) 51 and various additional devices. For instance when maximum axis sheets of paper exist in a laser beam printer system, if the discriminating numbers of at least 1-6 are given, where in the IFC 52, the PE 51, and the additional devices which paper exists can be known. Accordingly, when a jamming is generated, the IFC 52 inquires the discriminating number of a jamming form, of the PE 51, and which data to be re-recorded is can be known exactly. Also, the IFC 52 compares the discriminating number received from the PE 51 at the time point of start of recording with the discriminating number received from the PE 51 at the time point of completion of paper discharge, and can always know the discriminating number of a form in the device, therefore, by specifying jamming paper at the time point of a jamming, an appropriate processing can be taken quickly. |
