PURPOSE:To contrive to improve the picture quality and to speed up the transmission speed of communication between facsimile equipments through a computer by providing a protocol adjusting the communication mode based on the communication function provided to a facsimile equipment of a called party. CONSTITUTION:A communication function comprising parameters of minimum capability is registered initially in a storage section 34 as a common communication function by a computer 31. The computer 31 retrieves the communication function possessed by a destination terminal equipment recognized by a communication function by a terminal equipment registered in advance, the communication function of the destination terminal equipment and the common communication function registered initially are compared, and when the former function takes precedence, the computer 31 generates a new function identification signal (NSF, DIS) based on the communication function of the destination terminal equipment. The communication between the facsimile equipments 1a-1n and a center equipment 3 is executed by the communication control based on the specified protocol of the communication control section 30 by using a control signal given from the computer 31. |
