PURPOSE:To enhance electric chargeability characteristics of a photosensitive body by forming a eutectic complex layer between a conductive substrate and a photosensitive layer to constitute the photosensitive body and incorporating a specified O,N-containing heterocyclic compound in said eutectic complex layer. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body is constituted by laminating on the conductive substrate the eutectic complex layer, and on this layer the photosensitive layer. The eutectic complex layer contains as main components a pyrylium type dye, an electrically insulating polymer, such as a polymer having alkylidene-diarylene groups in the main chain, and the O,N- containing heterocyclic compound represented by formula I in which each of R1 and R2 is H, 1-4C alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, chloroalkyl, methylacyl, ethylacyl, 5-6C cycloalkyl, or aralkyl, thus permitting chargeability characteristics to be prevented from deterioration even after repeated uses of the photosensitive body and good images to be obtained. |
