PURPOSE:To achieve the enhancement in sealing performance, by increasing the projected height of the sealing member inside a scroll groove measured from the sliding edge in the outer circumferential part so as to be higher than that in the central part of the scroll. CONSTITUTION:In the sliding end 21 of a spiral blade 20 constituting a scroll, a groove 23 for fitting a sealing member 22 which is purposed for sealing the sliding part being in contact with the scroll on the opposite side of the sliding end 21 is formed. The groove 23 is so formed that the depth in the outer circumferential part of the scroll is gradually decreased so as to be less than that in the central part thereof. Even if the thermal expansion in the scroll central part of the scroll and the sealing member is greater than that in the outer circumferential part, the clearance in the slidably contacting part does not differ so much extending over from the central part of the scroll to the outer circumferential part thereof, thus the sealing performance can be enhanced.
