The gripper (4) permits the plate to be secured along a first edge, and a two-armed lever (6) is pivotably connected to a shaft (9) located at the opposite end to the gripper . A primary lever (7) extends away from the one large surface side of the plate over which extends the main panel (2) of the device, and a secondary lever (10) extends towards the other large-surfaced side of the plate. A hand grip (8) is connected to the primary lever and takes the form of a transversal bar, and the secondary lever also has a gripper which is so arranged that when the first lever hand grip is drawn away from the first edge part of the plate the primary lever pivots in the same direction. The gripper on the secondary lever then pivots to an end position in which the plate is secured in the area of its second edge.
