LOADING METHOD FOR MICROPROGRAM OF CHANNEL DEVICE

PURPOSE:To increase the loading speed of a microprogram in the channel at the terminal side by using a serial interface which is used for transfer of data to load the microprogram into a channel device so that an exclusive interface is omitted between the terminal side channel and an SVP. CONSTITUTION:When a microprogram is loaded into a terminal side channel 17, an input/output processor 2 sends a microcode stored previously in a memory means to the channel 17 as the scan data via a 1st frame which designates a scanning action of the channel 17. The channel 17 scans the received code into a control storage based on an instruction of the channel 17 and then reports the end of this scan-in action to the device 2 via a 2nd frame. These operations are repeated to complete a loading action of the microprogram into the channel 17.
