PURPOSE:To facilitate the identification of a fault device and to shorten time until a system is reestablished by controlling the lighting of a state display element corresponding to the operation state of a central control unit and respective input and output devices while an electronic exchange is operated, and lighting the corresponding fault display elements when a fault occurs in the input and output devices. CONSTITUTION:For controlling the display state of the state display element G0 corresponding to the central control unit 1, the execution control function of the system is made to process the setting of a system state display, and it makes the driving circuit of the state display element G0 in a system state display device 11 to alternately operate to a lighting side and a lights-out side, for example, through a bus 2. The fault display elements R0-R12 corresponding to respective devices make the driving circuits of the fault display elements R0-R12 corresponding to the fault device to operate to the lighting side when fault information at the time of fault occurrence is stored in a system fault information storage area. With controlling the lighting of the state display element in accordance with the operation state of the central control unit and respective input and output devices while the exchange is operated, the system operation state of the exchange can be confirmed at a glance.
