PURPOSE:To form an image of high quality without displacement of a line interval by returning at least one line a recording sheet at the time of stopping or rerecording. CONSTITUTION:Images a1, b1, c1, d1 of 4 lines are, for example, recorded on a recording sheet while considering that an inertial moment acts in a pulse motor 8 to oversheet a sheet feeding. When a CPU 1 receives an image data end signal in a buffer memory 5, the motor 8 is immediately reversely rotated to return the sheet, for example, by 2 lines and to then stop it. When image data of next 4 lines are fetched to a buffer memory 5, the motor 8 is driven to advance the sheet to a position where the previous image is recorded, and the images a2, b2, c2,... are recorded from next line. Accordingly, the stopping position is so controlled by a sub controller 3 as not to displace the interval between the next line and the previous line by considering the inertial moment of the motor 8. In case of a DC motor, an encoder is used to employ a method for counting lines. |
