PURPOSE:To provide a compacted machine tool by installing four props upright on a horizontally traveling table, allowing an elevating/sinking table equipped with a spindle head device to rise and fall along the props, thereby stabilizing motion of the elevating/sinking table, and decreasing the area of the traveling table. CONSTITUTION:A tool magazine 40 of an automatic tool replacement device 39 is driven for angle displacement, and the desired tool is indexed to the replacement position S. Then a spindle head device 34 is moved, and the tool is fitted on a spindle 36. The spindle 36 is advanced, and a work is processed with a spindle drive motor 37 operated. Because the spindle head device 34 lines upon an elevating/sinking table 14 on a traveling table 9, it is capable of moving along the three axes, and the work can be processed in different manners. Further, motion of the elevating/sinking table 14 along the Y-axis will be extremely stabilized by props 11, 11, 12, 12. This decreases the areas of the traveling table 9 and the bed 2, to obtain the compacted construction of the title machine. |
