A connecting terminal which consists of two terminal plates (10, 20) and has a shackle (7) for the attachment of an earthing cable (4), is provided for connecting said earthing cable (4) to iron bars (3a, 3b), for example of a building foundation. The two terminal plates (10, 20) are clamped, while being clamped with respect to one another at the same time, against iron bars (3a, 3b) which are arranged, for example, crossed over, a good clamping effect being achieved by mutual support in three regions (A, B, C). <IMAGE>
