PURPOSE:To operate a schedule automatically by defining schedule definition information on a job group regarding on-line service corresponding to its service name and knowing only the service name when switching to a stand-by host system is performed. CONSTITUTION:On-line service A1-2 is in actual operation in an actual operation host system 1-1 and service A1-7 stands by in a stand-by host system 1-6. A schedule defining means 1-4 defines the schedule of the job group regarding the service A and stores it in a file 15. A job start control means 1-3 starts the job group according to the schedule information file 1-5 of the service A. The service B is also performed similarly. if trouble occurs to the system 1-1, a system switching means 1-8 operates to detect the service A through a means 1-9, and the service A1-7 in the stand by state takes over. Thus, the execution schedule of the job group is automated only by knowing on-line service names.
