The invention relates to a linear guide which have a slide and a guide rail. The slide can be moved along the guide rail. The slide consists of a main body and two counterholders attached to the latter. The counterholders are supported relative to the main body via a hinge. Each of the counterholders has a ball guide, each with a loaded and a non-loaded row of balls and recirculating ends. The main body has two correspondingly arranged ball guides, which likewise have a loaded and a non-loaded row of balls and recirculating ends connecting the two. The loaded rows of balls are supported on the surface of guide tracks of the guide rail. They are held against this by clamping the counterholders against the main body. By the possibility of adjustments, it is possible to compensate for manufacturing tolerances or set the desired pre-load.
