PURPOSE:To securely judge the cutting position of a wire body by displaying the measured length of the wire body continuously for a certain time when a specific mark added to a position to be cut passes a detecting means. CONSTITUTION:When a sensor 15 detects the mark 11a, a pulse counter 32, a memory 33, and a memory buffer 36 are reset with the output of a sensor controller 35. A segment driver 34, on the other hand, is connected to the memory 33 to make a subordinate display 23 at all times. Further, the storage contents of the memory buffer 36 are read by a printer driver 37 and the segment driver 38. When a reset signal is inputted, the memory buffer 36 buffers the current storage contents for a certain time and then clears them. At this tie, the value is printed 22 through a printer driver 37. Further, the segment driver 38 converts the value of the memory buffer 36 and makes a main display 20 of it. Namely, the printer 22 and a main display device 20 prints a measured value when the wire body passes the mark 11a and displays it for a constant time respectively.
