PURPOSE:To make the face pressure uniform by changing the radius of curvature of the plane shape of a bead. CONSTITUTION:A metal gasket 2 is constituted of a substrate 3 made of elastic metal plate, and a combustion chamber hole 10 is formed on the substrate 4. Multiple bolt holes 8 are formed around the hole 6, and a bead 10 is formed. This bead 10 at least changes the radius of curvature of the plane shape in response to the fastening force of fastening bolts 16 fitted into the bolt holes 8. That is, the radius of curvature r1 of the plane shape of the bead 10 is made small at the portions between the bolt holes 8 apart from the bolt holes 8 where the fastening force is small, on the other hand the radius of curvature r2 is made large at the bolt fastening portions near the bolt holes 8 where the fastening force is large. Accordingly, the face pressure is made uniform.
