发明名称 DRIVING METHOD FOR MATRIX TYPE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY ELEMENT
摘要 PURPOSE:To permit rewriting of an image plane with one time of scanning and to obtain a driving method which is suitable for displaying moving pictures by including a signal of the size sufficient to transfer a state to one of two stable states into a signal for selecting scanning electrodes. CONSTITUTION:The scanning electrodes are selected line sequentially and arbitrary data is written to the picture elements on the selected scanning electrodes. Selection of the scanning electrodes is executed by using three time slots which are equal in length to each other. The picture elements are kept at zero potential in the 1st slot and the pulses of the size sufficient to transfer the same to the 2nd state are impressed thereto in the 2nd slot. Since the pulses of the size sufficient to transfer the state to the 1st state are impressed thereto in the 3rd slot; therefore, the picture elements attain the 1st state. Since the rewriting of the image plane by one time of scanning is thereby permitted, the time for rewriting the image plane is reduced to 3/4 the time of the conventional driving method.
