In a bag made of two sheets of thermoplastic film which, to form the bag contour or the side boundary, are connected at their edges by a weld using heat and pressure and, when filled with the contents, by a closure weld, the welded joint (13, 14) for the side boundary is very sturdy and, in comparison thereto, the closure weld (16) is weak and can be torn open by gripping the two sheets (11, 12) by hand in such a way that the two sheets (11, 12) are separated in the welded joint (16). In a particularly advantageous manner, the closure weld (16) has a section (16a) of reduced strength compared to other regions of the closure weld (16). <IMAGE>
