PURPOSE:To detect the direction of the sun even when an artificial satellite is in the shade of a celestial body by detecting energy particles of solar wind plasma from the sum. CONSTITUTION:When the artificial satellite 12 sails nearby the earth 11, the satellite 12 may be in the shade of the earth 11 as shown in a figure (a). A flow 14 of energy particles from the sun 10 is slightly disordered nearby the earth 11 as shown in a figure (b), but present even in the shade 13 of the earth. Further, the flow 14 of the particles is considered to be flowed from the sun 11 nearly accurately at a considerably distance from the earth 11. Therefore, the energy particles of the sun can be acquired even on the satellite 12 in the shadow 13 of the earth, so the sun direction can be detected.
