(1) p-substd.-phenoxyalkanols of formula (I) and their esters are new. R=1-6C alkyl or 3-6C cycloalkyl opt. fused to the benzene ring at posns. 3 and 4; Z=1-15C n-alkylene opt. substd. by 1 or 2 1-3C alkyls. Provided that when (I) is unesterified, than Z is not unsubstd. propylene. (2) Pharm. compsn. comprises a cpd. (I) as defined above, without the limitation of Z, together with a carrier.
