CURLER BODY AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE

Curler consists of a continuously extruded foam plastics strip with axial reinforcing wire inlay incorporated and embedded during the foaming process. More specifically, the plastics is a low-density polyethylene, esp. with a final foamed density less than 100, pref. at most 50 kg/m3. The external skin is pref. compacted to withstand the winding of hair, whereas the interior is more open-pore. In the pref. prodn. process the foam plastics is pref. directly foamed, using a physical expanding agent, around the wire core.
