PURPOSE:To prevent a pressing part from floating and to eliminate the adverse influence of the floating by providing part of a hinge mechanism which enables opening/closing operation on one flank of a copying machine main body. CONSTITUTION:When the original pressing part 200 is closed gradually, an opening/closing shaft 601 falls in the curved part 509 of a cam part 507 to relax the compression state of a spring 501, whose working force for pressing and opening is reduced without increasing. The rotary moment of the original pressing part 200, on the other hand, further increases, so the pressing part 200 is closed naturally. Specially, when the opening/closing shaft 601 falls in the curved part 509, it is only energized upward by the spring 501 and no slanting upward energizing force operates unlike a slanting part 508, thereby reducing the opening force for the pressing part 200. Thus, the original pressing part 200 is closed and then the state can be maintained; and the spring 501 does not open the original pressing part 200, which does not float.
