The invention has the purpose of replacing the log book which has to be kept in writing and with which the information and data which are relevant for verification and calculation of motor vehicle journeys are collected. The device according to the invention is captive and only requires a small outlay for inputting and monitoring the data. It is characterised by one or more manually operated and/or machine operated devices for data input, and at least one data carrier.
