The subject of the invention is a hot-air generator which makes it possible to supply two hot-air circuits separately from one another with hot air, the hot-air circuits for their part being able to feed various consumers with heat. The hot-air generator according to the invention can be used in particular for the purposes of room heating and water heating. To ensure optimum utilisation of the primary heat generated in a heating chamber (3) contained in a housing (12) having the two hot-air circuits (I and II) and to ensure, at the same time, safety against overheating, there is provided in the housing (12), in connection with the heating chamber (3), a heat exchanger (5) for utilising the residual heat of the flue gas issuing from the heating chamber (3) for heating the air in at least one of the two hot-air circuits (I and II), and the two hot-air circuits (I and II) can be interconnected, being otherwise separated from one another, in the housing (12) via two air flaps (8 and 9), the opening and closing of which is controlled as a function of the operating state of at least that of the two hot-air circuits (I and II) which draws its heat from direct contact with the heating chamber (3). <IMAGE>
