Open metal band circlip for pipes - closes via interlock overlapped ends and has suspension and anchor hooks with latter absorbing hoop forces

The circular pipe clip comprises a length of curved metal band (71) of which the free ends overlap to effect a mechanical interlocking connection. The internal clip end accommodates externally projecting hook formations (31, 32) which engage windows (72) in the opposite overlapping end, and a mechanism for the in situ application of circumferential tension is inc. One hook (13) is used for suspension purposes, comprising an externally projecting 'U' shaped length of the external clip end. A sec. hook constitutes a cold formed anchorage which is subjected to and absorbs the force arising when the clip is tensioned i.e. tightened i.e. tightened, with the forces being transferred to the edge of a corresponding window.
