Filter-changing arrangement

A filter arrangement for the separating of contaminants from thermoplastic, high-polymeric materials, in particular hot-melt adhesives, has at least two filters, generally filter cartridges, which are connected in parallel and a shut-off or deflector valve which, in normal operation, guides the flow of the high-polymeric material with a subdivision of at least 2:1 through all filters; in the event of overloading of the highly loaded filter, the flow is changed over completely to the other filter, so that the overloaded filter can be exchanged; after the exchange of the overloaded filter, the valve then subdivides the flow in inverse ratio to all filters. By this means, continuous operation is possible even during exchange of the loaded filter. To facilitate the exchange of the filters, unheated filter blocks are provided which are arranged in a heated basic body and have a filter chamber with a filter. Each filter chamber is connected only via bores to bores in the heated basic body, so that the entire filter block, including the still-shielded filter cartridge, can be removed from the heated basic body.
