The invention relates to a device for receiving and heating up electrically heatable hotplates which are equipped, for the power supply, in the peripheral region with supply contacts which lead to the heating elements accommodated in the insulating housing of the hot plates. Devices of various sizes with different numbers of receptacles for hotplates can be produced in that a power pack, intermediate parts and an end part are fitted together, as a kit, mechanically and electrically to form an elongated holder, in that the assembled holder forms receptacles which are open on one side and are adapted to the cross-section in the edge region of the hotplates, in that these receptacles are equipped with catch elements for mechanically securing the inserted hot plates and with two electrical connecting contacts for electrical connection to the supply contacts of the inserted hotplates, and in that the connecting contacts of the receptacles are electrically connected via plug-in connectors of the power pack and of the intermediate parts to the output of the power pack.
