The body-manipulation frame for an invalid chair comprises an articulated lifting structure (12) on the chassis of the chair and comprising a backrest (16), a seat (13) hinging on backrest and chassis, and a footrest (18) hinging on the seat and chassis, together with a pivoting drive (22,25). It has a first set of supports (26) with two rigid curved members (28) hinging (31) at the sides on the backrest uprights (30) and lockable in position. In the vertical position these form armrests and body guards for the patient, while when horizontal they partly enclose the thoracic area. A second set of supports (27) incorporate two hinging arches (50) on the front upright of the footrest with locks securing them in a position where they form open leggings, enclosing the pst patient's legs from the front. |
